Kara Cranston, writer of "You Are," writes about the idea of love being mistaken. The ideal conception of love is that it is beautiful and full of joy, but is deceiving. Cranston's experience of love may be relatable to other teenagers, who were damaged by a negative relationship. I think today it gets tougher to distinguish between adoring the idea of love rather than loving the emotions of passion that love creates within one. I found Cranston’s poem very significant to not only teens today but, perhaps those who have experienced a toxic relationship with someone close. The way Cranston relates how she felt after reflecting her experience is nature, which allows one to feel her damage as well as myself.
