Feedback on "Background Noise"
I love the poem titled "Background Noise" by Shawna H. Horrible events regularly occur in the world. We're so used to hearing about them that they're not a big deal to us. As Shawna said, "Just another gunman shooting up a school. Another bomb blown up in an airport. Another terrorist attack at the end of a finished line."
Loss of human life is far too common and it doesn't affect us much. As the title suggests, it's become "background noise." This poem aggresively reminds us about the merciless reality we live in, and I'm glad it did. Death is not meaningless. We don't think it matters to us until we or someone close to us is a victim.
