Feedback on "Things You Don't Know You Want" by Priscillan Rapp
I found "Things You Don't Know You Want" by Priscilla Rapp very relatable. The narrator doesn't realize she likes the boy and instead judges every aspect of him. She describes his imperfections and flaws to mask her own feelings for him. She conveys, "... I don't want to get my hopes up over someone who could end up being awful. Regardless, I'm determined to find him revolting." This clearly demonstrates that individuals often don;t want to admit how they really feel. Instead, they decide to disregard it and hate it.
I was very intrigued by the way she described her experience of hating a boy she liked. She found his smile too wide and had too many teeth. She found him overly polite and friendly. She found him being a typical good listener like all others. The author did a phenomenal job describing the true reality.
