Childhood
The poem "Childhood" is a great description of the way we thought about things as a child and how things happen. Everyone misses their childhood as they begin to mature. In just three lines, the author brings us back in time.
The first line,"The ice cream smiles" is something we can all relate to. Ice cream melts if you don't eat it in time and smiles from children when eating ice cream can make people melt. Children smile from eating ice cream, savoring that delicious sweetness. As a kid, I loved eating ice cream but the problem would be it melting. I still love ice cream but I hate when it melts.
Sunsets are always a marvelous sight. Sometimes they make the sky look pink, orange, etc. Opalescent, as used by the author is a great word. It means showing various colors. As a kid, we thought the sun was just different colors but now that we've grown up, we've learned that isn't the case.
