Feedback on "Daughter to Father"
I really enjoyed the poem “Daughter to Father,” by Isabelle. It is written by a girl with immigrant parents. Isabelle discusses the sadness of knowing that your parents have sacrificed their happiness for your needs. This piece made me ponder the sacrifices my own parents have made in the past, and thus, really hit home.
Although Isabelle’s exact issue doesn't directly apply to me, I still felt a connection to it. The writing was emotional, and beautifully conveyed her emotions about the situation. The vivid details of her home life put me in her shoes, as if I was there with her. I could hear the blaring TV and smell the scent of tea. This poem was definitely an emotionally enjoyable read.
