Feedback on The Story of My Success
In "The Story of My Success," Sophie Engle reflects about how she judged others that weren't like her. Sophie was determined and was one of those on top of the school. As she entered high school, she realized that everyone had different goals and life wasn't a competition.
Personally, I can't relate to this. I'm not that hard-working when it comes to school and don't see the point in working so hard for a hundred when I could kick back and get a 90. I laughed when people talked about going to tutoring and asked if my classmates were okay when they told me they studied for hours straight. I could never understand them and this memoir was an insight for me. It's interesting to read about someone in the group I consider "overachievers." It's great to know you probably won't judge me now if I barely passed my math test and I promise not to stare at you in shock when you present your grades. Deal?
