Changing School Starting Times
Julia Osterhouse's article "Changing School Start Times" automatically grabbed my attention. As a highschool student, it is easy to relate to the situation ing described in this article. While reading the passage, I was beyond exhausted from lack of sleep; however, I was determined to read what Osterhouse had to say. I'm proud to say she did not disappoint. By looking around my classroom I am able to see the exhaustion in my classmates, the author writes about by saying "Throughout puberty [the later secretion of melatonin causes] teens to stay awake later"(Osterhouse). It's not our fault we don't receive enough sleep; it is in our biology. THANKYOU Julia for speaking out on our behalf.
