Feedback on A Fallacy
"A Fallacy" by Simone Stevens is an amazing poem. In just three simple lines, this author conveys a point that is the cause of all conflict- the lack of truth in the world. She points out that truth is now something that is valued. However it's valued because of the lack of it. People lie again and again and make more and more problems. It's the truth that makes people happy and prevents evil.
From being a small child I learned that it was not okay to lie. I got in trouble when I told my mom that I had brushed my teeth when I hadn't. I read stories like "The Boy Who Cried Wolf." I began to understand that being truthful doesn't always mean being nice, it means doing the right thing. Learning to tell the truth is a skill that if more people had, the world would be a better place. Simone does a great job of illustrating truth and its problems in this small yet mighty poem.
