This persons "Wooden Eyes" will be watching over the past lover forever in Warren Devaney's poem.  Devaney explains how he will be a guardian angel over someone he immensly cares about.

After reading Devaney's work over a past relationship that has two different views or sets of feelings, I can definately say I am surprised by the final phrase and ending of the short story.  He describes his care for a past, assuming, girlfriend, when she regrets him everytime and continues to push toward regaining her love.  With all the negative Twitter posts and obscure comments, I have trouble understanding why Warren stays in contact with her.  She, his past girlfriend, has seemed to have moved on and forgotten the past feelings.  For Warren, it is best for him to do the same.
