The Journey MAG
I was moved by Josh B.’s poem, “The Journey.” It really captured the essence of a family road trip, as well as the dismay of reaching the destination. I enjoy how it begins with the poet disagreeing with the statement “it’s all about the journey,” and by the end it’s clearly the truth. With its good rhythm and meaningful words, I was really captivated by it.
The experiences Josh uses to describe his journey are warm and seem familiar. I felt as though I were experiencing the events he described. The rhyme scheme is great, and I followed the poem anxiously, grinning as I moved from line to line. This is a memorable poem that rings true and touches readers in a way that makes them smile.
