Is It Worth It?
"Is It Worth It?," Katie K.. describes the stress and pressure of performing well in school that society has applied. Throughout the article, I could relate about how she felt obligated to take AP classes to prove to others her intelligence and ability. I understood her most when she said that "doing any less than expected [.] was diappointing [and] embarased me when I compared myself to my peers." Society has set standards of getting good grades, taking advanced classes and comparing yourself to others. The author expresses her diappointment with how these high standards haven driven young students to physical and mental exhaustion. Thank you Katie K. for bringing academic challenges that students face daily into light.
