My Hair, My Power
The writing “ My Hair, My Power” written by Jennifer Switzer talks about self- acceptance. The girl in the article talks about how she uses her hair to express herself. She has always had short hair but she said “ As I began high school however, my confidence waned.“ Thoughtout her freahmen and sophomore years she kept trying new hair colors to try to boost her self esteem. As she went more into her sophomore year she said “ the more often I changed my hair color the less effect it has on my mood.” She also talked about how she thought she was ugly and there was nothing she could do to fix it. She decided to try to start over so without thinking she shaved her head and she said that was one of the best choices she had made. She says how she still has some self-acceptance issues but she is working on it and it's getting better and better each day.
