The Man Who Fell in love With Death
I found the purity of Jacqueline Miligrim's short story, The Man who Fell in Love with Death, incredibly alluring. As someone who has suffered from depression my entire life, it is easy for me to relate to 'the man'. He falls for the deception of death, which is something I myself have done countless times. It is not difficult to get caught up in the illusion that after you die, you'll be in peace. That somewhere after death there is a happiness and tranquility inexperienced in life. To me the most effective quote is when 'death' says to the man, "I love you enough to let you keep on living" Because everything beautiful comes from a life well lived. Thank you Jacqueline for an inspiring tale of a man who had to learn not to give up on life.
