But...She's a girl
I found Jackie Kovalcin's article "But...She's a girl", extremely moving because she was able to prove herself to a whole boy's basketball team. It takes courage to get on a court with people who are bigger and stronger for a sport that consists of a lot of contact. From what i've seen when watching basketball was that there is an extreme amound of pushing and shoving, so for her to even decide on playing with boys is brave. Not only that but Jackie was able to score and have the ball passed to her. Although she was doubted by the guys, it was nice hearing that eventually they played as a team. Thank you, Jackie for sharing this inspiring story that proves that girls are able to do as well as guys in anything, like basketball.
