Summer Volunteering
Every summer I volunteer at my old elementary school. I help the ex-ed teachers with their summer school classes. My mom used to be a teaching assistant in the ex-ed building when I went to the school so I know most of the teachers. I love working with the kids because life is perfect in there eyes, they see nothing bad, nothing hurtful, they are just happy as can be. They come to school every day with a smile on their face and you know they are truly happy to see you. Every Friday all the volunteers help set up small pools and toys for the kids to have a water day. I cannot begin to describe how happy the kids are when they come out of the classroom and see all the pools set up. I am the youngest in my family so I never knew what it was like to have a little brother or sister until I started volunteering. I am very thankful to be able to see those kids every summer and I like to think they enjoy seeing me too.
