I can relate to Angela Paik when she wrote about “A New Age of Slacktivism”. Her article calls out social media and how it is only effective when it comes to awareness. Statistics shows that “71% of people agree that social media makes people think they are doing something when really they are not.'' Activism has been replaced by slacktivism through social media. It fails to promote involvement. Retweeting and making hashtags does not implement change. Although it might bring light to an issue it had no significant outcome unless people make it happen. Thank you Angela Paik for writing about this important topic, that should be turned into outside conversations.
