The Fire

The crackling of fire surrounds her in her bed, her sheets the kindle to keep the fire.
She continues to sleep, appreciating the warmth against her weak, cold body.
She doesn’t make a noise as it engulfs her completely.
The cremator turns towards her mournful family.
