Into the storm
His wife and daughter were home fast asleep. The storm was daunting. Hail, rain, and snow fell from the sky as it all thickened into one gross moisture. The road was pure ice- black ice- with mushed substance in the grass. Joe’s little pontiac had been through everything, but it would be a miracle if he made it in this weather. As he drove at 5 mph down Keystone, the mixed substance was smashing his windshield. There was no visibility nor any cars around him. It was common sense to stay in on a day like today. But he figured he needed it. The only store open was a run-down WinnDixie 56 miles away.
