the staring hall and the laughing door: a short story
It appears in my dreams every night. It is just there, at the end of a hallway. Its laughing at me. I’m there again right now. The walls were looking at me. Bright, multicolored eyes were staring at me from every direction. I tried to step on the ones that were on the floor. They only blinked, and continued staring at me. The door was still laughing. I was trying to get to it, but it only got further away. I ran faster, and it stopped. I heard voices over the laughing. “this is the path you have chosen, you may go on.” They continued saying that. I was able to get to the door, at last, and was greeted by an empty white room. I was being pulled in by hands that were blended in with the room. The door shut, and everything went black.
