Back Again

The room was poorly lit with just a single light a little kid would use for a night light. It was a plain room with only a table in the middle, nothing else, no chair, no lamp, no books; just walls, a floor, and the ceiling, along with a tiny black table in the middle. The floor creaked beneath his feet as John took half steps towards the table. He was not scared, nor happy, he just felt plain; it wasn't even a feeling. Jon hadn’t breathed in a good five minutes, but he did not feel his lungs burn but he felt like he was breathing. He wasn’t even sure if his legs were touching the ground, he felt so light. With each step he got closer to the table. Out of nowhere, things started to manifest into the room. After his first step, a massive oak shot out of the ground next to him. As the tree grew, the ceiling turned into the sky as he took another step. With each step a new thing, plant, human, or animal popped into the room until he was finally at the desk. He looked around still feeling the same nothingness. He had not yet breathed while he was in this place but he had felt better than ever. He looked around the room which had now turned into a tiny village. It was not the kind of town he saw in downtown Newark;it was something that you would only see in dreams or in books. There was a huge river rushing through the town, the color of a diamond. A warm breeze filled the air and huge mansions people would dream of having lined the streets which were paved of gold. He looked down at the desk. Still nothing was on it. Jon did not feel scared nor lost. He felt like this was where he should be. He took one step closer to the desk and to his surprise a blue piece of paper came out from the desk. It lay there perfectly in the center. In huge handwriting it read, “welcome!” Where am I welcome to?Jon thought. He realized that was the first time he had been able to think the entire time. He then started to wonder where he was. The last thing he remembered before he entered this room was him walking through Newark;he had rounded the corner and remembered seeing the front lights of a car. He took the paper off the desk and again, another thing popped into the room. It was a man that seemed familiar to him.
.
“Welcome to here, You can do whatever you want, see whoever you want to see and stay in whichever house you want,” the man explained pointing at all the houses. Jonathan tried to respond to ask him who he was and where here was but nothing came out.
“There is no talking in here, if you want to communicate you just send thoughts to whoever you want to talk to and we filter them accordingly,” He exclaimed. Jonathan realized he had not seen his lips move ounce the whole time he was talking to him.
“Thank you so very much!” Jonathan replied.
“Now it is time to get your house and meet who you will be staying with here.” This guy was one tall whatever he was, he looked down on everyone.Jonathan thought that he couldn’t tell if he was a human or a lion or a snake. He started walking off down the road; Jonathan followed, he could now think at a higher level he could while he was on earth. Now when he stepped nothing happened. No more trees or houses popped up. Jonathan looked at all the houses as they walked. They had all looked identical to each other. They had stopped in front of one of the houses and walked up the walkway. It was big, about as big as a football stadium just in a house shape.
“This is where you will be staying, don’t be confused when you walk through this door,” Jesus said opening the door to the house. Jonathan took a step into the house. Inside was not what he expected. His whole life flashed before him, all the memories he had happened right in front of him and the next minute he was in house. It was what he imagined the house to look like, his own. He was still the same age he died at, 15 but he felt 10 again, except with better parents. He walked around the house but nobody was there. All the shades were down. He was in the kitchen when he heard some people outside laughing and having a good time. He rolled up the window to see his whole neighborhood as a kid, with all negativity filtered out, on the porch in his front yard sat his mother and father with his neighbors except they all looked like the man. His heart skipped a beat as he ran to the door to see them. He hadn’t seen them in over 100 years and he missed them more than anything. He ran over to them, arms fully extended ready to hug them. He ran to his mother first. He jumped into her arms. He opened his eyes, he was still in his mother's arms but it wasn’t the way they had started the hug. He was a little kid again, it was his third birthday and his mom was hugging him the way they were when he got to heaven, except it wasn’t his mom, it was the man. This was his favorite memory as a kid. He blinked again and he was back with his neighbors and family the way they were before. He then walked over to his dad. Again he wrapped his arms around him. This time he was at his championship lacrosse game. He had just gotten his trophy and was hugging his dad smiling the man’s  smile. He blinked yet again and was back. No these were not memories that were going on, it was like he was actually there again. He tried to talk to them but nothing came out. He tried to think and talk like he did with jesus but yet again nothing happened. Instead of trying to talk to them he sat down smiling at them. He took a look around, it was exactly how he remembered his childhood town. The weather was much nicer than he remembered, it was cold and rainy normally there but here in heaven it was perfect. He felt like him and his parents were communicating but they weren’t. He sat there for the rest of the day staring at his parents.
The next morning he woke up with the sun but he wasn’t the same age he was yesterday. He was a little baby once again. His parents or what he thought were his parents stood over his little bed. He looked around at the hospital. This was not the one he was born in the first time he was on earth. Why was he back on earth but his parents were still in heaven, he thought. As he thought that, his whole past life flashed before his eyes and he discovered  God was giving him a second chance, he wasn’t good enough for Heaven and so he’d been given a little glimpse and told to try better next time.
