Rylan Davis Best Day Ever… Probably

March 25, 2015

Hey, my name is Rylan Davis. My life is pretty bland. I don’t do a whole lot during the week. I mean I’m not a terrible kid, but at the same time I am not so perfect. I am just an average 12 year old boy that is almost 13. I go to school, I have homework (sadly) and I play some sports, like soccer, but yesterday was not the same as all the other days. It was amazing… from what I remember.
* * *
Today my day started off like it was going to be like any other lame day. My alarm clock went off at 6:00 in the morning so I could get up for school. Usually I just hit the snooze button and roll back over and fall asleep again. Then my mom comes in and yells at me. Blah, blah, blah, but not today. Today was different. I woke up and my favorite song was playing on the alarm clock. I felt like that was a sign that today would be different. It felt weird because I have not had a good day in a while. I am just hoping today will be a fantastic day.
When I got out of bed, I got dressed in my new clothes I got for an early birthday present from my Aunt, brushed my teeth and started to head downstairs, preparing myself for the wave of questions that were about to hit me like a cannon!
“Hi honey, how did you sleep?” Mom asked.
“Okay I guess,” I answered in a quiet voice.
“Did you brush you teeth?” she asked.
“Yes Mom,” I answered in an an annoyed voice
The normal chat went on for a little longer. Then I made my breakfast and left to go to school before she could ask any more questions. When I got outside, my friend Daniel was already out there and we started to head to school. I was thinking about if my luck would keep up. Then I noticed that Daniel was a lot quieter than usual.
“Hey Daniel, you okay?” I asked.
“Yeah… It’s just that I forgot to do my biology homework, and if I get a late assignment it would be my first one and it would also drop my grade a lot,” Daniel explained.
“You should start it in homeroom and finish it in study hall, since you have biology for the last period of the day,” I said.
“Oh… that’s a great idea! Thank you,” Daniel said with joy.
We talked a bit more about homework then we arrived at school. Right when we walked in, the bell rang for everyone to go to their first class. We got there just in time.
When I got to homeroom I remembered that we were having a party with smoothies and pancakes. It all looked so good and smelled so amazing! I ate a lot! It was like a second breakfast, which was amazing!
After that, I went to Engineering class, or Tech ED. Instead of the normal boring work, we had a surprise assembly. We went to the gym and the bleachers were out, and a bunch of teachers were out in the basketball court and there were tables set. Some teachers were on one side of the gym and other teaches on the other side. The unusual thing was they all had Nerf guns. Then, all of a sudden… BEEEP! the buzzer went off and they started firing. It was hilarious! It went on for about 30 minutes and then, sadly we, had to stop and go back to class.
The rest of the day at school was awesome and that is a story for another day. When the day ended, my friend Daniel and I started to bike home.

Then, all of a sudden, my day only got worse from there on. (Sadly) I had to go to soccer later that night and I was really tired but… my parents still made me go. Since I was so tired I could not do my best when I was a goalie, and I got scored on over and over again. I also played forward and usually I score many, many goals, but not today. Then my mom was a half hour late to pick me up and I forgot my new iPhone at home, so I could not call her. Don’t worry, it only gets worse. Then I got home; I forgot that I had homework, so I stayed up untill 11:30 doing that! Then, of course I had to go to bed and now I am here writing about yesterday when I thought my day would be great… Probably be great.
