First Snow
Cold white flakes fall from the darkened sky, I looked up smiling sticking out my tongue letting the coldness give me chills but they were good ones, not ones out of fear, I remembered the first day my pap died, it was the first snow. I closed my mouth and ran into the snow with only long pants and short sleeves, I dropped onto my back, my skin now numb from the flakes, I made the motions of an angel and soon stood up to admire the work in white. I dashed inside and got dried off remembering what was next, I pulled the wet hair sticking to my face ever so lightly off and went into the kitchen, getting a mug from the old wooden cabinet. I filled it with water and added the powder that went with it so well, I smiled as I put it in the microwave and waited for it to warm up, once it was done I walked into the room with the old wood stove sitting in front of it. I let the memory's come back to me, just him and I sitting here on the coldest snow days, laughing and smiling warmly to each other, I felt a tear fall from my still cold face, I wiped it away knowing he would want me to be happy like I always was... I laid the warm mug next to me as I laid on the floor, slowly falling into a white snowy field where I saw a fimiliar face with open arms towards me.
