Part 1
He was constantly going through my mind, driving me crazy. He was tan, tall, with dark brown eyes, and a calm voice. He was confident, but not cocky, which is partly why i liked him. We had a couple classes together but he sat way across the room, so close… but he seemed miles away. He just couldn’t leave my mind. We had spoken a couple times, about things i couldn’t quite remember, but he was easy to approach, easy to talk to. It had surprised me the first time i spoke to him. All the while, all i could do was stare at his eyes, eyes so deep i almost got lost in them. But he was popular and I.. I was quite the opposite.
What can i do to get him outta my head? i thought. Just then, he walked in. His hair was exactly the same as it had always been, distinct and soft. His eyes looked full of life, wide open and alert. His smile, oh goodness, his smile almost made me fall outta my seat. He walked past my desk to his seat across the room.
“Okay, today I feel like moving some people around,” Mrs. Molehie announced. I tried to hide my excitement as the other students were put into different seats, one by one until I was the only student left.. and there was only one empty desk. Beside him. A mix of pure joy and utter fear flushed across my face as Mrs. Molehie called my name and placed me in my seat. I stood there for a second, then I slowly stumbled to the desk next to him. As i sat down, he glanced at me and smiled. Was that a smile? Was it for me? I asked myself mentally. The whole class through, I tried to keep calm and hide my joy. When class ended, I gathered my stuff and walked out the door, where my best friend Jack waited for me every day after class.
I could hardly stop myself from blurting out my big news for the day, “I got seated next to Justin.” Jack looked at me with sudden shock.
“Justin Belk?” Jack asked me, interested in my story. “Yes, Justin Belk,” I replied.
“Did you talk to him?” Jack wondered.
“Nope. He just smiled and i moved on,” I said cooly, as if I weren't jumping up and down from complete excitement on the inside. Jack looked at me doubtfully, and we talked all the way to lunch.
