Okemo Mountain
I always like winter
Best
You can ski down slopes
Of white snow with
Your friends
And carve
And skid
And jump
And race
And drink lots of
Hot chocolate under
Warm blankets
Inside
At the mountain lodge
And go back up the hill
On the chairlift with
Your friends
And go bundled up
From head to toe
And still be cold with
Wind in your hair
And have chafed lips
And have fun
All the time

After writing this piece as a class assignment, I wanted to share my passion for skiing with others. Hopefully the imagery of this poem will inspire people to try a new sport.
