The Adventures of Si Peale
It was a warm summer night at the Mexico monastery. Si had just finished with his chore of sweeping the courtyard. He was about to go to his dormitory to review his findings when Mother Maria Guadalupe stopped him in his path. “Encarnacion, could you fetch me a glass of water? I am very warm.” He did not enjoy being used for her simple needs as “training” but he complied because he knew it was all for a good cause. The truth is Si was an agent in the CIA. He was at this monastery in Mexico because he was trying to track down a Drug Lord in the area. The worst part was, he was dressed as a nun.
The man Si was tracking down was a Cuban Drug Lord who went by the alias of El Guapo. After the Communist government found him out he had to flee the country and relocate his detestable business in Mexico. He was responsible for at least thirty percent of all known cocaine and marijuana coming into the US from Mexico illegally. He had a vast network that would take years if not decades to dismantle without taking out the leader. So Si’s mission was to locate him and then contact a US Navy SEALs team to capture him. So far Si had not been very successful except for a man who was known to deal locally and supposedly got direct supply from El Guapo since he lived at his compound. Si hadn’t gotten a chance to follow him or even get very close to him because he hadn’t gotten to go into town in days because he had gotten in trouble for taking a piece of bread from the kitchen at night. He didn’t understand how those nuns could survive on so few calories. He did however have a stroke of luck because one of the nuns knew a woman who was ill and needed to be visited.
It was Tuesday, the day that Si would go into town to visit the sick woman and hopefully find the mysterious drug courier. He grabbed his Glock in case something broke down terribly and then rode the monastery bike one and a half miles into town. As soon as he arrived he went to the house of the sick woman, quickly prayed over her, and then went to the market to see if he could find the man. He spotted the man over by a stall with some mangoes. As he walked by the stall the man commanded him, “Sister! Help me with these mangoes.” Seeing this would be the golden opportunity to find out where El Guapo was, he replied “Yes Se?or”, put the sack of mangoes into his bike and followed the man home. Sure enough, he found himself at a fairly large enclosed home. Nervously, he walked into the compound with the man and set the mangoes inside the main house. As he walked out he tried to see what type of weaponry they had. He spotted a few mounted guns and an RPG. He biked away confident that he had found the guy and that he would soon be in a helicopter headed home to see his family.
He woke up in the middle of the night to the sound of screaming. Immediately, he got up and grabbed his gun to check out the scene. It was one of the cartel members trying to kidnap a nun. He ran over and put a bullet in the chest of the man. It was the same one who he carried mangoes for in town. The nun stared at him in shock and disbelief. “I’m not really a nun I am a US Specialist Agent.” I need to get you back to the Monastery. After he hid the body and took the nun back to the monastery he called the US Task Force from his radio and told them the details. Later that morning he got his Government Issue items and left for the rendezvous point. He got into a truck and drove to a private air strip. He got into an unmarked civilian plane. Within five minutes they were in the air and Si was able to comfortably sleep as he counted the hours until he would see his family.
