3 Minutes... Breathe
5 minutes…
Breath…
The audience is waiting. The crowd. Hunger for entertainment.
There starving eyes watch the dancers onstage. My friend padabures onstage.
She trips. But lands in a split and saves her routine. And then, her dance is over.
I’m on.
It’s my turn. The lights go on. I freeze. The music doesn’t come on.
And then…
“A FIVE… A SIX… A FIVE, SIX, SEVEN, EIGHT!”
All the others follow my lead. They dance without music. We don’t need any. We dance. We perform. We feed the hungry eyes.
3 minutes…
Breathe…
It’s over.
