What Should I Do?
Lena walked into class feeling let down, disappointed. "I’m tired of this. Everything I do just makes him think we’re friends. How can I get his attention? What could I do to catch his eye? Does he even like me? Does he notice all the little things I do for him?
Ah! I feel so aggravated! I can’t take it! If only I could find a way to make somehow make him understand that I am hopelessly in love with him. But what if it doesn't work? What if he turns me down? I have the lowest self esteem ever! Writing a letter would make me seem like a loser. Maybe if I talk to him, he would probably change his mind. When I see him 2nd period, I'm going to tell him everything."
The bell finally rang to go to the next class. Lena grabbed her bags and prayed to God that something good would come out of this. As she got to the stairs she walked down towards the nurses wing. Sure enough there he was. Jesse was one of the best baseball players in school. Every girl wanted to be with him. The only thing was that Jesse was one of those hard-to-get guys. He was the type that would never look at a girl unless he knew they were worth something.
"Hey" Lena said.
"Hey, I was looking for you."
"Really?"
"Yeah, I've been wanting to tell you that I'm glad we're friends, and if you wanted me to walk with you to class."
"Of course! I mean I have to tell you some stuff anyways. It's kinda been borthering me." She confessed.
"Come on let's walk. What's going on?"
"Don't take this the wrong way, but I've been trying to talk to you for a really long time, and now that we started talking, I feel like we're stuck in a friends zone. The point is is that I don't want to be just friends, Jess."
"I'm gonna tell you a secret, but you can't tell anyone."
"Okay, I promise not to tell."
"Lena, I've never dated anyone before. You're the first girl ever to catch my eye. I'm a little intimidated by you."
"Really? Jesse, I feel the same way. I always thought you would be too good for me. I just never knew what to expect."
As they reached Lena's class, and both of them seemed to be confused and embarressed.
"I don't know what else to say," Jesse said.
"Me either. But we can finish this disscussion later cause we're gonna be late."
"Okay, sure thing. I'll catch you later Lena."
