The wait
Lying in his favorite chair, I waited all night. Thunder rumbled in the distance and drops of rain hit the windows. The crackling of the fire lulled me to sleep and invited me to fall into the arms of Morpheus, but I refused; I lit five candles with a strong scent of lavender and let my mind wander through memories and memories.
…An ink flavored cake steamed on the tablecloth while you turned on the radio; we sat down and laughter filled the room like pie to our stomachs…
I opened my eyes and tears ran down my cheeks forcing me to accept the facts. Ten years later it seems that night was yesterday.
