This submission is for the "One Sentence Love Story" contest.
I always tell my friends to send me a text when they get home safely, no matter where/when we're hanging out. It's my way of showing that I care about them and care about their health. This simple act is an easy way to show that you love someone.
Honestly, this story is up for the interpretation of the reader.
Readers can interpret "text received" however they like; it could be the 'get home safe' message from me being received by my friend/traveler, or it could be the 'I got home safe/I'm ok' text from the friend/traveler being received by me.
The lack of message from the traveler also implies that maybe they didn't make it home safely --hinting at someone dying in a texting-while-driving accident.
Thank you for considering my submission.
