2048
The boy slyly opened a private browsing window, he then searched up the link for his favorite pastime. He looked around the empty room, double checking for any presences, he drew the window curtains together and locked them in place with an extra large binder clip, lastly he opened up his escape route. The boy began typing away at his keyboard, every once in a while he clenched his fist but continued typing again. Then he heard a click click click coming towards the door. The boy’s hand reached for the mouse, his thumb rotated the trackball. Just as the clicking enters the doorway, a click from the boy’s mouse sees the window disappear. The boy glances to the left and sees a little white head pop up. He looks back at the screen and sees his escape route. He lets out a heavy sigh, then reopens the private browsing window, types in his favorite pastime, and begins typing away once again. The white creature who had just walked in looks at the boy and walks back out the door, click click click. Suddenly a thump thump thump comes out of nowhere. The boy reacts lighting fast still tense from the click click click clicking moments before. The boy’s hand reaches for the mouse once again as the thumping grows closer, his thumb repeats the same motion as minutes before, a fast rotation of the trackball and the cursor lands on the X in the corner. As the thumping enters the room a click from the mouse sees the window disappear once again. The thumping enters the room, a man stands there in the doorway and eyes the boy suspiciously for a couple seconds before retreating back out the doorway, thump thump thump. The boy sighs a breath of relief. He opens a private browsing window, he searches up the link for his favorite pastime, double checks his surroundings, and begins typing away once again.

This story is in third person past tense. It is about a time when I played games on my computer, and would close the tabs when someone came in. I use repetition to show characters like “click click click” would be my dog while, “thump thump thump” would be my dad. There is also a little bit of imagery, The start where I describe the room could be an example. My favorite part of this story is the part where I close the window right before someone enters the room.
