Reality of Life

An average guy named Jacob wanted to be in powerlifting, but like any other kid he had obstacles to go through first to be in a competition. It was the middle of fall and Jacob was struggling to keep up with his grades in his classes, and he also worked at the movies called Cinemark, so his job wanted him to go in on the days could’ve gone to work out, so he was frustrated.

Jacob was also in welding too but since he had work and schoolwork that he struggled to keep up with the people he welded with and the class he was in, so on the days he had off he wouldn’t go to the gym but try and make up for his work in welding and try to catch up. Jacob was a breaking point like if you were to put to much weight on a bar and it would snap.

His teachers would tell him to go to their tutoring so he could study and try to fix his grades, so he would have little time to work out, but would make the most of it so he wouldn’t be rusty in lifting.

The day his competition was on a he had to work, and study so he was ashamed, because that would make his third time to miss a competition.

Jacob started to lose hope in working out and was also losing time because fall was coming to an end and that would mean powerlifting would end. Jacob was talking to his dad about quitting powerlifting cause of all the stress and his dad said, “are you sure you want to give up so easily” and Jacob asked if he could have some time to think about it.

Later, while he was in high school Jacob told his close friend Gael about it and he managed to convince him to stop

from quitting and told him he could make it to a competition since he knew Jacob wasn’t busy that day. Jacob’s job requested him to see if he was able to go in, but he declined it because he was already doing something Saturday and was excited and pumped up for the competition on Saturday.

Jacob’s dad took him to this place that looked like a gym but was a school to compete in a competition and once Jacob was in, he felt the pressure of the other people he was competing against. He gave it his all with all the sweat and tears he’s went through and was able to pull it off and make 3rd place in it and was going to nationals on a Friday.

He was excited for it and motivated to keep trying, until his welding teacher told him about a welding competition that was happening the same day the powerlifting was on and wanted him to compete in it, so then Jacob had to practice his welds and find time to go to gym so he would be ready for the powerlifting competition. Due to the day the welding competition was on he had to find a way to make time for both competitions and he had to choose to either go to one of them.

Jacob was stressing out too much that he couldn’t think straight until the realization hit, he knew he wasn’t going to be some famous powerlifter that was going to a championship so he finally decided that he was going to the welding competition instead and knows for a fact that he wouldn’t regret the decision he made.
