Always in Between Us
I fell for you. You didn’t fall for me. I really liked you. You really liked her. I didn’t tell you. You never knew.
I tried to move on. It kind of worked. I kind of forgot you. You completely forgot me. You asked her out. She accepted.
Time passed. We met by chance. You remembered me. I remembered you.
You were still with her. But somehow, you fell for me. I hold grudges. I didn’t. You confessed. I heard you.
Then she walked out from behind the column, laughing. She asked me if I fell for you, again.
That’s when I knew it was fake. Your feelings could have been real. Your intentions weren’t. But it still hurt.
I knew that I still liked you. So I cried.
You were guilty, but you couldn't feel my pain. I knew that you never knew. You said sorry. I said that it was fine. I told you to forget about it. I told you to forget about me.
I went right. You went left. She walked behind you. Just like always. She stayed between us.
