Not Just Acquaintances
Wake up to a cloudy morning surrounding the Jamaican Atmosphere
I put my slides on and soar to the new cafe
I gaze my eyes amongst the large crowd of people
I peel my eyes while being seated
Could this be?
It’s almost as if who I am looking for is indistinguishable
I hear a faint, “Hello sunshine.” and a large smile crossed my face.
It is my grandma greeting me with her iconic line
We instantly connect while she’s wearing the periwinkle gafas i got her so long ago
I can’t believe she still remembers who I am
We decide after breakfast to walk amongst the shoreline on the beach
On our we see waves along with nine hundred and ninety nine squids floating gracefully through the water
We say our goodbyes and will definitely be seeing each other again
By the end of the day there is no sleep in body and all i can do is think
