Final Destination
As the day begins a warm breeze blows, birds chirping a beautiful song and a perfect blue sky is upon them. Mr and Mrs. Jones thought it was a stupendous day to go out and do something the whole family could enjoy.
“Why don’t we go on a road trip? The weather is pretty nice to be outside. We could go to the lake house we have by the mountains. The lake might be at a good temperature so we can go on a swim or just hang out and have some fun time with the family.” said Mrs. Jones.
Mr. Jones then agreed with Mrs. Jones. He was really elated to go to the lake house since they haven’t gone there in a while. He then proceeded to tell Mrs. Jones, “Start preparing our luggage while I go tell McKay to start preparing for the trip!”
As he was going up the stairs, he heard thumping footsteps in McKay’s room. She was already awake. Mr.Jones goes up to McKay’s door and knocks very loudly. As she opens her door Mr. Jones sees that Mckay is already ready.
“Hey Kay, I just came to tell you that we’re going to the lake house this weekend, and to start packing things you might need. It seems that you heard our conversation and began to pack.” said Mr. Jones.
“Trip?”- She was very confused as to why they were going on this sudden trip her parents planned.
“Yes, we’ll be going to the lake house to enjoy this weekend.”- he sounded a bit disappointed with how McKay reacted to the news.
“But dad, I already had plans with my friends this weekend. I don’t want to sound mean or anything like that, but I really don't want to go to the lake house.” -McKay emphasized
This broke Mr.Jones heart. He remembered that McKay would always want to go to the lake house. He quickly replied to her with an uptight tone, “Well too bad, you’re going whether you like it or not. Now finish loading your stuff to your suitcase or bag. Whatever you’re taking.”
Minutes passed by and McKay was done packing her bags. Mom and dad were waiting for her to go downstairs so they could get everything loaded to the car. As Kay was going down the stairs she had this irritated look on her face. You can see from miles away that she had no energy or excitement to go on this trip. Soon enough, they got everything inside the car and took off.
During the ride, a deep silence emerged. Kay didn’t make a peep as well as her parents. Kay was strongly upset with her parents since she’s been waiting for this weekend to arrive because of all of the things and events she was going to attend.
Mr.Jones looked through the top mirror to look at McKay in the back seat. He had a sudden feeling of guilt.
“Look Kay, we're not doing this trip just to go somewhere and ruin your plans. We organized this so we could have quality time together.”, said Mr.Jones.
“Yes I know dad, but why this week?”McKay replied.
“Well we’re very sorry for that, but you can do that another time.” Mrs.Jones added.
After she said that, things started to become way more burdensome. Mckay began to feel this anger that took over her whole body. She was going out of her mind until she burst. She began to scream and lose control over her mind and body. She had no stop. The whole family was at their limit and proceeded to have this huge argument. Mr. Jones was furious. The whole mood changed in a matter of seconds. A beautiful day turned into a horrible day. Everything felt unusual and different.
They kept arguing and every second that passed by, Mr.Jones kept feeding his anger. It took over his body. His face started to turn into a bright red, his hands began to grip the steering wheel. His foot launched into the gas pedal and started to speed and accelerate through the road. He blacked out and suddenly felt numb. Mrs. Jones tried to get her husband’s attention. She screamed at him, but there was no response. It was too late. The car was shaking uncontrollably trying to not hit other people. They stopped screaming and realized how far they have gone with this argument.
There was an instantaneous floating sensation . No seatbelt, regrets, and a breeze of anxiety immediately aroused in the air. In a blink of a second, they were in mid air. Everything felt slow when they began to take notice of what was happening. The vehicle looked like a professional dancer, jumping and turning as they were falling.
“Is it over?” McKay said to herself.
They had stopped. Their bodys had a burning sensation. Kay saw a puddle of blood next to her. She then realized that it was hers. Anxiously she started to see where her parents were. They weren’t inside the car. She looked out her window and suddenly turned pale white. Her parents were laying face down further away from the car. Desperately, she tried to get out of the car and walked on her forearms to get to her parents. She got to them as fast as she could.
“Mom?....Dad?..” she screamed as her eyes started to water. A river of tears started going down the side of her nose. Her parents nearly dead, having their last few takes of air they tried to speak to Kay, but they couldn’t.
McKay laid by them as she felt weak. Everything around her was spinning. The loss of blood was making her lose consciousness. She screamed while she could so people could find them and call for help.
She closed her eyes and all her pain disappeared. Slowly opening her eyes, she saw herself in a new place. Her parents were right beside her waiting for her to wake up. They were now in peace in a place where everything around them was calm and soothing. They have reached their final destination. Heaven.
