August 2022 Fiction Contest: Ice
My time on the ice is peaceful. At least it used to be. Then it was just work and a burden. It wasn’t fun anymore. My coach was the worst. Sure he got me here. A seventeen year old winning gold at an olympic event. It never happens but here I am. But this time it’s different. This time I have no coach and Friends for me when I finish. This time I can do what I want. I picked the music and what moves I want to do. This time I’ll skate with a real true smile. I’m finally free.
