August 2022 Fiction Contest: Sacrifice
There was once a girl with the voice of an angel. But when people saw her, they winced with faces covered in pity for the burns that marred her face. One day, a wizard offered the girl for her to become a little more beautiful each time she gave some of her voice. So, she sang him a note and the scars on her face faded. Soon, she gave away her voice but was the most beautiful girl in the world with everyone awestruck. But when she opened her mouth, the whole world winced and pitied her voice of scratching glass.
