Of a Happy Life
Some of my work is a little on the morbid and/or depressing side, and at times I try to pull it back from that depth. Life's a yo-yo, it goes up and down. I think art should be that way too. a couple years back, my very good friend Linda took me down to Florida for the first time in four years, (I had moved from there) to retrieve some of the things I'd left, and see some of my family. it was a very great gift to me, but she didn't stop there. I would have been content to sleep in the car after all that, but I got treated to a hotel room each night, restauraunt dinners from my favorite places, and she had our photos taken at a real ritzy photography studio. I felt like I was queen of the world. I used one of those photos to draw this picture, and later gave it to my best friend, in the hopes of letting her know she makes me feel that way every time I see her. <3

I think it's a very nice picture, I adore the teeth and the eyes.. is it based on someone real? I hope so, cause I think it's done very much justice. You can see a sort of embarrassed humour in their expression. They look like someone I want to know :-)

"Poetry and art are when you take decades of thought and condense it into a nifty little portable carrying case that people can see and go 'Oooh, Ahh'... and then forget about it. But what does it matter, so long as YOU remember it?" ~ Bela
